My Trip to Thailand
In January of 2009, I went to Thailand and studied
Thai massage at the International Thai Massage School in
I spent two and a half weeks there and learned basic
to advanced techniques. I studied and lived with
students from all over the world and formed amazing
bonds. Falling in love with the culture, the spicy
foods, beautiful landscapes and of course the adventure
of it all so much I decided to go back.
In November of 2011 I made it back to Thailand and
went back North to Chiang Mai and studied with Pischet
Boonthumme. I studied there for two weeks and again I
can't wait to return. Pischet teaches you to really feel
and listen to the body, to get out of our minds, and to
be a therapist without putting strain on our bodies.
After an eye opening experience with Pischet I went to
study for one week at MTM. There I learned one on one
with Ming a lovely fluid tradition style Thai massage
with pressure points and stretches.
Thai is a wonderful massage to receive and to give.
It has a rhythmic quality that soothes and relaxes the
body. The rhythmic stretches with the breath and mindful
pressure points for stress and pain relief are good for
the nervous system, lymphatic system, and blood flow.
People who receive Thai massage feel a connection with
the therapist, relaxed, and energized all at the same
